Sister Sin: True sound of the underground

25/08/10  ||  Desert Eagle

Oh man, words cannot even accurately describe how great this album is. It was a total surprise too because, I mean, they have so many things going against them. They have a chick singer, they’re “heavy metal”, the album title, I could really go on here but it would be fruitless since, as I said, this album is fantastic. Wait, I never said that. Ok, so I’m saying it now. Fantastic!

There isn’t really even anything worth complaining about on this album. My usual gripes and nit-picks are completely glossed over by all the good the album contains. The singer amazingly can pull off a tough-sounding metal chick voice. It’s like if Rob Halford had balls.

This is the kind of shit that you could listen to any time. You could be rocking out while speeding down the road in mom’s minivan, at the spandex convention, or while beating off into your sad little crusty sock at two in the morning. You might not want to play it too loud in that last example though because this will blast that crust right off into your face and believe me you don’t want a crust facial, not after what happened last time in that playground.

Heavy metal is a pretty apt description by the way. This is old school all the way with fist pumping anthems and bad-ass solos and aggressive lyrics that are all about bringing it on. While it may sound cheesy, and it is, you’ll get over it very quickly because of how good it sounds. It is extremely well produced with the guitars giving out a lot of punch and the drums blasting your skull and other such retarded comparisons to heavy and punishing things. Sister Sin? More like Sister Sin(sational!).

It is hard to pick a few favorite songs, because really this whole album will rock your shit. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t at least recommend a few so I’ll try to think of the very best: “Heading for hell” , “The devil I know”, and lets say “Better than them”.

So really just about everyone should listen to this. I dare you not to like it. I would say it is impossible. It is just too infectious and awesome.

Oh wait, no. This is fucking terrible.
